MRI-Guided Linear Accelerator (MR-Linac)
Kauno klinikos is the only hospital in Lithuania and the first in the Baltic States to offer cancer treatment with an MRI-guided linear accelerator (MR-Linac) – one of the most advanced technologies in radiation oncology.
This state-of-the-art system combines magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with a linear accelerator, allowing real-time visualization of tumors during treatment. The MR-Linac enables adaptive radiotherapy tailored to each patient's anatomy and tumor changes, increasing precision and reducing radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissues.
Installed in July 2024, the MR-Linac represents a major step forward in cancer care and demonstrates Kauno klinikos’ leadership in innovation and precision medicine in Central and Eastern Europe.
