The Emergency Medicine Department operates within the largest Trauma and Emergency Care Center in the Baltic States – a 15,000 m² facility designed to deliver fast, safe, and evidence-based emergency care. The Emergency Department provides 24/7 services and manages over 84,000 patient visits per year. As the region’s Level I Trauma Center, it responds to more than 500 severe trauma cases (ISS >15) annually.
Every day, the ED receives an average of 207 patients, prioritizing those in critical and life-threatening condition through a standardized five-level triage system. When additional diagnostics or treatment are needed, patients may receive up to 24 hours of observation or be admitted to the Emergency Diagnostics and Short-Stay Unit, where extended diagnostics, treatment, and specialist consultations are provided.
The Clinic focuses on two core missions:
• Excellence in emergency care grounded in the latest scientific evidence.
• Continuous professional training and the development of emergency medicine innovations.
Fast-track pathways for stroke, myocardial infarction, and femur fractures ensure rapid, protocol-driven care. Patient safety is supported by continuous security monitoring and controlled access throughout the Trauma and Emergency Care Center.
